Module Description: |
Students will be selected for a work placement with Reed Smith LLP, Simmons & Simmons LLP, Bross Bennett LLP, Z2K, CHANEL (the in-house legal function), Integreon, D2LT, the Government Legal Department or the International Chamber of Shipping. It is envisaged that the work placement will normally be at least 8 months. Successful applicants will each be allocated a tutor, who will visit the student at the placement twice in the year. The employer will also provide a mentor in the workplace at each employer to track performance. It is anticipated that during the work placement the students will undertake a wide range of activities to gain an awareness of professional practice. Students completing the module will be expected to assist with the module by reviewing the programme and providing support to the students who are planning to undertake the year in practice in the following years. Students will also complete a reflective portfolio during the placement, and they must present this portfolio at the end of the placement. |
